Play, Learn and Grow Healthy Closure Event
Come along to hear the results of the Play, Learn and Grow Healthy project in Carmarthenshire, and learn about other ongoing projects with Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids' Clubs.

Presentation of Resources for our Childminders
On 26th February, 12childminders from across Carmarthenshire attended Helene Lovell’s home in Llandovery to each receive a large box of resources to promote physical activities in their settings when using the Play, Learn and Grow Healthy resource card pack.
The boxes contained many items including bats, balls, beanbags, cones, markers, a parachute, target mat and so much more.
The funding for the purchase of the boxes was received from the Carmarthenshire Community Development Fund.
Councillors Nigel and Dorothy Burgess, Mayor and Mayoress of Llandovery, Cllr Jill Bludd Chair of Llandovery Women’s Institute and the wife of the Town Crier Mrs Sandra Beard were also in attendance.
Everyone had a lot of fun networking. Coffee and cakes were shared as well as a background to the project and an update on results to date.
Karen Pereira, Project Manager, thanked all the childminders for their support in training the buddies in their settings, gathering the data from the children and their parents, using the resources and encouraging the buddies to work towards the Young Leaders Award from the British Sports Trust.

On June 4th 2010, the Play, Learn and Grow Healthy team were at the Urdd Eisteddfod in Aberaeron. In conjunction with Mudiad Ysgolion Meithrin, we had a fantastic time showing the children and parents our new set of resource cards. Everyone took part in our skipping challenge, including mothers and fathers. Well done, all of you who managed to win a skipping rope! And thanks so much to you, Mudiad Ysgolion Meithrin, for allowing us the space..

We have finished our latest round of Focus Group meetings. This time we were focussing on Nutrition, and Laura Griffiths, a Training Officer from Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids' Clubs, held workshops based on our nutrition cards. The feedback has been very positive, and all the children really benefited from the various activities. We are very grateful to you, at the following venues, for your support at our meetings:-
